The 60th Anniversary Revival Service

Revival service to celebrate the 60th anniversary was held on May 17-18th at the KCB main chapel (Rev. David Chai, Ed.D).

Rev. David Hoonjin Chai, Ed.D.

Rev. Dr. David Hoonjin Chai finished his 16 years of service with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) as a national staff for Asian American Leadership of the General Assembly Mission Council in 2010. For the last two decades he has been actively engaged in teaching and preaching nationwide on the topics of leadership, Christian Education, and Church Renewal. His audiences included men and woman leaders and people in the educational ministries in the Korean congregations.

He has served three Korean congregations in Georgia and Maryland for 16 years before he joined the national staff of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). After his undergraduate studies both at Yonsei University (Seoul) and Florida International University (Miami), his professional trainings were received through Columbia Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary, University of Maryland, and Spalding University. His final degree, Doctor of Education, was awarded by Spalding University, Louisville, KY.

He has served as Interim Director of Korean American Ministries at Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta for the fall semester of 2010. He currently serves as Founder/Chair of the Confluence Institute, a ministry of Church leadership development.

He has been chosen as “Educator of the Year 2013” by the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (APCE), joined by six denominations with Presbyterian heritages in North America as the first recipient as Korean-American. The award ceremony will be during the national conference, Orlando, Florida, sponsored by APCE in February 2013.
